Skunk Removal for Deer Valley Chef

Imagine a professional chef in a fine resort restaurant who went to work every day smelling like a skunk. A few years ago I was called by a man with such a problem. He owned a home in Park City, Utah and was the head chef for a fine restaurant in Deer Valley. He was in dire need of skunk removal as his home had turned into a hotel of sorts and the smell was permeating the house where his family lived, right down to their very skin. The whole family went about smelling of the wrong sort of French Perfume—Pepé Le Pew.

So the man called us—I gave him and estimate and went over the expected costs. "That is too much," he exploded. "What do you think you are, an attorney? Don't even bother coming." I hung up and turned to my assistant. "He'll call back." He did. And apologized. "I am sorry for blowing up. I am always a bit of a hothead, but normally not so bad. These animals really are stressing me out and I really need them gone. Will you still help me?" I told him I was very willing to get rid of skunks and do the skunk odor removal, too. "I promise you that when we are done the animals will be gone and the smell will be gone, too."

The animals were living under this million-dollar home in a crawl space. The smell was terrible! The animals apparently congregated there from miles around and had adopted it as their chosen residence for winter denning. So many animals together was stressful even for the animals, and when they are stressed, skunks pop off—spraying just a little. In this case, even a little is too much. We started trapping skunks and eventually removed 13 of them. We installed a special protective underground fence to isolate the home and prevent digging or burrowing. We did a lot of skunk odor removal. Oh, yes, it needed a lot of that.

The chef was really great to work with. As the skunk removal progressed, he became happier and happier. He was so glad to have his problem fixed. We even ended up trading for part of the fee and I have enjoyed some great meals in his excellent restaurant. I recommend you visit it next time you are near Park City. It has a great atmosphere!

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Deer Valley and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

Bats and Mice, Oh my! in Deer Valley, UT

At the very top of the mountain above Deer Valley is an elegant and impressive home owned by a local businessman. The building is used not only as a home, but also as a showcase for entertaining professional athletes and other celebrities who come to Utah for business or pleasure.

The home is in Deer Valley, but in the case of this home, it was almost Mouse Valley or Bat Valley. As soon as the home was built, it attracted mice and bats. There was scratching and squeaking of one group of animals in the walls and floors and the scratching and squeaking of another group of animals in the attic. The location was perfect for both creatures and the numbers of animals grew quickly. Very concerned and not wanting to become some sort of specialized Noah's Ark, the owner contacted us requesting mouse control and bat removal.

For the owner and for the home, image is very important. Visitors to the home are accustomed to luxury and expect the best. The home is kept spotless and full of top-of-the-line amenities. It would ruin the whole thing to have lingering unpleasant odor, or a set of beady eyes along a baseboard or a gnawed book edge.

We have established mouse control and bat removal plans that maintain the image and the value of the property. The owner is so pleased with our services and the way we protect his property that he calls us annually for inspections and for maintenance or correction of anything that might be needed to prevent a return infestation.

Mouse control and bat removal are important for any property, humble or luxurious and seeing happy clients with clean, safe homes, regardless of price or size is our pleasure.
